The Yoga of Relationship

Blessed are the flexible,
for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Michael McGriffy

Yoga is not just an isolated, solitary pursuit. How we relate to others and ourselves off the mat is the whole point of stretching our limitations. Where do we shrink back from relating? Where do we open up? If yoga is a meditation, then staying present throughout the day is an ongoing practice. Whenever we get defensive, angry, or fearful, we have a chance to see where we might be a little inflexible. How do we stretch ourselves so we can be open to every experience?

Come learn how to stay centered through life's daily challenges and enjoy deeply satisfying relationships. We'll discuss Nonviolent Communication (NVC) as an alternative to critical self-talk and judgmental thinking, as we move toward greater compassion toward others and ourselves.

Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's cracked up to be.
That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for.
And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more.
